What is Ensō?

ARRI Ensō lenses are named after, and inspired by, a circular Zen symbol. In Zen calligraphy, painting an ensō is a meditative practice that trains your mind to exist fully in the moment. You are engaged with your surroundings, but your thoughts are untroubled by anything beyond the act of creation.

This is an ideal state of mind on set, and it is only possible if you have complete trust in your tools.

Combining German engineering with Japanese optical excellence, Ensōs are a fusion of two cultures – adaptable and reliable, yet elegantly simple and pure of purpose.

Uniform lens housings

Gear rings are in the same position on all 14 of the Ensō focal lengths, most of which have a front diameter of 95 mm, so they can be swapped on the camera without disruption. The focal lengths in the core sales set of six lenses will be the most frequently used, but the wide-angle 10.5 and 14 mm, as well as the telephoto 250 mm (350/500 mm with its included 1.4x/2x Extenders) allow Ensō shooters to meet even the most extreme visual demands.
